Job description
Join a premier energy and engineering firm delivering cutting-edge electrical power solutions. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver robust systems for utility-scale generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
As a pivotal member of our engineering team, you will apply your expertise in electrical design, protection schemes, and dynamic system analysis to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead critical studies, and support commissioning to bring projects from concept to operation.
We offer a collaborative culture, competitive compensation, and opportunities to work on high-impact projects that shape the energy transition.
Responsibility
- Design and develop high‑reliability electrical power systems for utility-scale projects including generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and dynamic simulations using ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, or similar tools.
- Specify and evaluate electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and SCADA interfaces.
- Develop protection schemes, relay settings, and coordination studies in accordance with IEEE, NFPA, and NERC standards.
- Lead cross-functional project teams through design reviews, risk assessments, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Oversee field testing, commissioning, and performance verification of new and existing installations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, one-line diagrams, equipment datasheets, and bill of materials.
- Collaborate with procurement, vendors, and construction teams to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field; PE license preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power systems design for utility-scale projects.
- Proficiency with power system analysis tools (ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, SKM) and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with protection relays, substation design, SCADA, IEC 61850, and communication networks.
- Strong knowledge of standards (IEEE 80x, IEEE 16x, NFPA 70/NEC, NERC CIP) and safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills; ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% for site visits and commissioning.
