NovaTech Electronics is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our growing team in Austin, Texas. In this role you will diagnose, repair, and test electronic assemblies, PCBs, and prototype units, ensuring quality and reliability across production and R&D projects. You will collaborate with engineers to interpret schematics, troubleshoot issues, and set up test rigs. As a critical member of our manufacturing and test lab, you will maintain calibration records, document processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance yield and efficiency.
Responsibility
- Diagnose, repair, and test electronic assemblies, PCBs, and prototype units using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and dedicated test rigs.
- Inspect incoming components, manage calibration, and perform preventive maintenance on test equipment.
- Assemble and rework electronic hardware per schematics and IPC standards.
- Document test results, failure modes, and corrective actions in the ERP/PLM system.
- Collaborate with design and process engineers to improve test coverage and yield.
- Troubleshoot field returns and customer issues, provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
Qualification
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics repair, assembly, or production testing
- Associate degree or technical diploma in electronics, mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, and power supplies; ability to interpret schematics and assembly drawings
- Experience with soldering techniques (manual and reflow) and IPC standards
- Familiarity with PCB inspection and repair, component selection, and BOM interpretation
- Strong problem solving, documentation, and communication skills; ability to work in cross functional teams
- Familiarity with safety standards and ESD practices; willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives
