NovaTech Innovations is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our manufacturing and R&D operations in Austin, Texas. You will work on electronics assembly, testing, debugging, and repair of high-precision devices used in aerospace, medical, and industrial sectors. Our ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with a proactive, quality-focused mindset.
In this role you’ll collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and QA personnel to ensure product integrity from prototype through volume production.
Responsibility
- Assemble, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and subassemblies in accordance with IPC standards.
- Perform functional and environmental testing, document results, and escalate anomalies to engineering teams.
- Interpret schematics, bill of materials, and engineering change notices to support production and repairs.
- Prototype debugging and root cause analysis for design enhancements.
- Repair and rework failed assemblies using appropriate tools and soldering techniques.
- Maintain test equipment, calibration records, and a clean, organized work area.
- Support manufacturing process improvements and contribute to yield optimization.
Qualification
- 2+ years of hands-on electronics technician experience in manufacturing or repair environments.
- Experience with PCB testing, soldering (through-hole and surface mount), and rework per IPC standards.
- Proficiency with measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and function generators.
- Strong reading of schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs; ability to follow test procedures.
- Knowledge of IPC 2221/2231 or similar standards is a plus; familiarity with ESD practices.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or technical certificate; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
