Job description

NovaTech Electronics is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our growing team in Austin, TX. This hands-on role focuses on assembly, testing, and calibration of PCBs and electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure high quality and reliability across our product lines.

As part of our engineering and manufacturing group, you will work with cross-functional teams to diagnose issues, implement improvements, and maintain documentation for traceability and compliance.

Responsibility

  • Assemble, inspect, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, PCBs, and electro-mechanical components.
  • Perform in-circuit and functional testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs; document test results and deviations in the ERP/MES systems.
  • Calibrate sensors, actuators, and calibration equipment to required tolerances and specifications.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reliability.
  • Assist with fixture creation, maintenance, and calibration records; manage component inventory.
  • Adhere to ESD, electrical safety, and quality standards (IPC, ISO) in a fast-paced environment.

Qualification

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or 2+ years hands-on experience in electronics testing/assembly.
  • Proficiency with soldering (lead-free, SMT and through-hole) and PCB assembly processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with meters and tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs; familiarity with IPC standards is a plus.
  • Experience with calibration procedures and test fixtures; knowledge of QA and traceability documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities; detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment; strong time-management skills.
