Job description
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on testing, assembly, and repair of electronic components and PCBs in a fast paced, quality driven environment.
In this position you will collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve technical issues, document test results, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate thrives on hands on work, continuous improvement, and accurate data recording.
Responsibility
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and PCB components using standard lab equipment.
- Solder surface mount and through hole components and insulate wiring as required.
- Calibrate and align instruments, perform functional tests, and record results in the MES/ERP system.
- Inspect PCBs for defects, document findings, and support rework activities with precision.
- Perform routine maintenance on test equipment and maintain calibration records.
- Follow IPC 610/620 standards and strict ESD control procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Provide clear, timely documentation of work performed and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- High school diploma or technical/vocational training; associates degree preferred.
- 2+ years of hands on electronics technician experience in manufacturing or repair environment.
- Proficient with multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and powered test fixtures.
- Experience with PCB assembly and soldering; knowledge of IPC-610 standards.
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams; basic knowledge of CAD/EDA tools a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities; able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality, including ESD and cleanroom protocols if applicable.
