Job description

NovaTech Electronics is hiring an Electronics Technician to join our fast-growing manufacturing and R&D facility in Austin, Texas. You will work closely with the engineering team to test, troubleshoot, and validate complex electronic assemblies, from prototyping to high-volume production.

Responsibility

  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Perform functional and burn-in testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, test jigs, and other equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and align equipment per specifications; ensure conformance to IPC standards where applicable.
  • Assist in production line support, including fixture maintenance and process documentation.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) with prototype validation and troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental policies; maintain clean and organized workstations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualification

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on electronics troubleshooting, testing, and repair experience.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and pattern generators.
  • Solid soldering skills and familiarity with IPC soldering standards.
  • Strong understanding of electronics theory, schematics, and PCB layouts.
  • Experience with failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and documentation best practices.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly instructions; strong attention to detail.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; strong communication and teamwork skills.
