Job description
Join NovaTech Electronics as an Electronics Technician in Chicago. You will diagnose, repair, assemble and test electronic assemblies and PCBs in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. Responsibility
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies and PCBs using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
- Assemble, solder, and inspect PCB assemblies in accordance with IPC standards
- Diagnose root causes of failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Document test results, calibration data, and repair activities in the ERP/MIS system
- Assist with component selection, procurement liaison, and BOM updates in collaboration with engineering
- Support new product introductions and design reviews as needed
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of inspection and test equipment
Qualification
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or Technical Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as an electronics Technician or equivalent
- Strong soldering skills and PCB assembly experience
- Proficiency with test equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, LCR meter, signal generator
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
