Job description

GreenWorks Environmental, a leading environmental engineering and consulting firm, is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Seattle team. You will work on water resources, site assessment, and regulatory compliance projects for municipal and private sector clients. What you’ll do: apply engineering best practices, analyze data, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, sustainable solutions.

Responsibility

  • Lead and support environmental permitting, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance for projects with municipal, state, and federal agencies.
  • Design and implement water resources projects including stormwater management, flood risk assessment, and water quality monitoring.
  • Conduct site investigations, remediation planning, and risk assessment for contaminated sites.
  • Perform data analysis and modeling (e.g., SWMM, hydrologic/hydraulic models); prepare clear, actionable technical reports.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulators, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.
  • Prepare permit applications and support environmental documentation under CEQA/NEPA and Clean Water Act requirements.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development through client proposals and technical presentations.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting or municipal projects.
  • Solid knowledge of permitting processes (CEQA/NEPA, Clean Water Act) and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with GIS (ArcGIS), hydrologic/water quality modeling (SWMM), and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare technical reports and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or must be in process.
