Job description
We are seeking a results-driven Environmental Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA. This role focuses on sustainable water resources, wastewater, and site remediation projects for municipal and private-sector clients. You will apply state of the art analysis, field data collection, and regulatory knowledge to design practical solutions that protect public health and the environment. The ideal candidate combines technical rigor with collaboration across disciplines and a passion for building resilient communities.
In this role you will lead or support multidisciplinary projects, perform environmental assessments, model hydrology and hydraulics, prepare permit applications, conduct feasibility studies, and contribute to business development through client engagement and proposal support. You will work with senior engineers, planners, and field scientists to deliver compliant, cost effective outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead environmental impact assessments and risk analyses for surface water, groundwater, soils, and air quality
- Design and optimize water resources, stormwater, and wastewater treatment systems
- Prepare regulatory permit applications and coordinate with agencies
- Conduct field reconnaissance, sampling, and data analysis using GIS and CAD tools
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets with strong deliverables
- Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and environmental fate assessments
- Support environmental due diligence and remediation planning for brownfield projects
Qualification
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in environmental engineering with emphasis on water resources
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as NPDES, NEPA, RCRA, CERCLA
- Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and MS Excel
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical report writing skills
- Professional Engineer license preferred or on track in the state of Washington
