BlueEarth Engineering & Sustainability is a leading environmental consultancy that delivers innovative, practical solutions for water resources, urban ecology, and sustainable infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead water resources projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with municipal, industrial, and private clients in the Pacific Northwest.
\nIn this role, you will oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management design, TMDL analysis, and permitting under NPDES and state regulations. You will manage project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical findings to clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a proven track record of delivering regulated environmental projects from concept through construction.
\nWhat you’ll do:
Responsibility

- Lead and manage water resources projects, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, flood risk assessment, and stormwater design. \n
- Prepare and submit permit applications (NPDES, state stormwater, air permits as applicable) and coordinate with agencies. \n
- Develop robust technical proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules; monitor project performance and ensure QA/QC. \n
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and analysts; review technical deliverables and coach team members. \n
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and consultants; present findings and project updates to stakeholders. \n
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, data integrity, and health and safety standards. \n
- Utilize GIS and BIM tools (ArcGIS, AutoCAD) to develop design drawings and analysis; support field investigations. \n
- Support business development through client relationship management and technical proposals. \n
Qualification
- \n
- BS or MS in Environmental or Civil Engineering; PE license preferred in WA or ability to obtain promptly. \n
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in water resources, stormwater, wastewater, or related fields. \n
- Strong proficiency in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM) and GIS (ArcGIS). \n
- Experience with NPDES permits and state environmental regulations; familiarity with data analysis and reporting. \n
- Proven project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. \n
- Excellent communication skills; ability to present complex technical information to clients and stakeholders. \n
- Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and field investigations; willingness to travel as needed. \n
