LIANHETECH MALAYSIA SDN BHD is actively seeking an Environmental Protection Operator to support our environmentally responsible and compliant chemical plant operations at our Malaysia base in Tanjung Langsat, Johor. You will oversee day-to-day environmental management, monitor performance against regulatory permits, and drive continuous improvements in waste handling, wastewater treatment, emissions control, and air quality monitoring. The role requires hands-on operation of environmental equipment, diligent data logging, and timely reporting to internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities. Working with production, maintenance, and EHS teams, you will help ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable plant performance while upholding our commitment to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate environmental records, supporting inspections and audits, coordinating compliance training, and ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials. You will contribute to root-cause analyses for any deviations, participate in incident investigations, and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence. Responsibility
- Monitor and support environmental management for daily chemical plant operations to ensure compliance with environmental permits, regulations, and company standards.
- Conduct routine environmental monitoring (air, water, noise, and waste) and maintain accurate records and reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Operate and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment, effluent treatment systems, and waste minimization processes.
- Investigate environmental incidents, implement corrective actions, and support root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate with production, EHS, and maintenance teams to drive waste reduction, energy efficiency, and emissions control.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with safety procedures.
- Maintain documentation for compliance audits, ISO 14001 requirements, and internal KPIs.
Qualification
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience considered.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in environmental protection, wastewater treatment, or compliance within a chemical or manufacturing setting.
- Solid knowledge of Malaysia environmental regulations and permits; familiarity with ISO 14001 is a plus.
- Experience operating and maintaining environmental monitoring equipment and data logging systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform root-cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; capable of working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced plant environment.
