Job description
Spacey Design is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator (Design & Build) to join our team and drive cost control for our experiential projects. In this role, you will translate architectural and engineering concepts into accurate cost plans, balancing creativity with rigorous budgeting to deliver fast, high-quality builds that meet Gold Standard requirements.
You will collaborate with designers, engineers, procurement, and construction crews to develop comprehensive estimates that cover materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and contingencies. Your analyses will support proposals, tendering, and active projects, ensuring that every dollar is accounted for and aligned with client expectations.
Key focus areas include quantity takeoffs, building up detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost forecasting, and change-order pricing. You will monitor variations, perform value engineering where appropriate, and maintain transparent cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across multiple experiential projects in Metro Manila.

Responsibility
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for design-and-build experiential projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdown structures for proposals and projects.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure cost certainty and value engineering opportunities.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and client requirements to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
- Prepare tender documentation, bid comparisons, and procurement plans to support competitive, accurate proposals.
- Monitor project changes and manage variation pricing, ensuring timely updates to cost forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and Spacey Design’s Gold Standard quality requirements.
- Provide clear cost reporting and stakeholder communication from bid phase through project closeout.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in design-and-build environments, with experiential projects preferred.
- Strong proficiency in quantity takeoffs, BOQ development, and cost estimation software or advanced Excel.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction standards in the Philippines, especially Metro Manila.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; capable of working across cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities; able to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Experience with value engineering, cost control, and reporting on fast-paced projects.
