Job description

Join Micron Semiconductors in Singapore as a FAB Process and Equipment Engineer. In this role you will be at the heart of wafer fabrication, owning process execution and equipment reliability across our leading edge production lines. You will partner with manufacturing, equipment engineering, and quality teams to drive process optimization, yield improvement, and cost savings. You will apply data driven methodologies to reduce variability, advance process control, and ensure safe, compliant operations in a fast paced cleanroom environment.

As a key member of the fab operations team, you will own the lifecycle of critical equipment and processes from installation to ongoing maintenance. You will lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex process excursions, implement DOE experiments, and translate findings into robust standard operating procedures. The role includes participating in minor upgrades, preventive maintenance plans, and CAPEX justification for process improvements. You will monitor OEE, scrap rates, and cycle times, and deliver tangible improvements quarter over quarter.

Responsibility

  • Lead optimization of wafer fab processes and related equipment across assigned lines to improve throughput and yield.
  • Partner with equipment engineering and maintenance teams to implement preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
  • Plan and execute DOE based experiments to reduce process variability and improve process control charts SPC.
  • Drive cost savings by identifying waste reduction, energy efficiency, and consumables optimization while maintaining quality.
  • Manage capital equipment changes, vendor coordination, and installation activities including commissioning and validation.
  • Capture, analyze data from MES, SPC and GMP records to support decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical coaching and documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and training for operations staff.

Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-8 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor fab process or equipment engineering in a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes such as deposition, etch, lithography, CMP and related equipment; understanding of process control and DOE.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, perform root cause analysis, and implement tangible improvements; familiarity with SPC and MES is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering yield improvement and cost savings in a cleanroom manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication; able to work cross functionally with manufacturing, QA, equipment suppliers and engineering teams.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Singapore and adapt to a fast paced, safety focused environment.
