We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Facility Engineer to oversee the smooth operation of two manufacturing plants (1A & 1B) at our Batu Kawan site in Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining reliable facility systems, coordinating maintenance activities, and minimizing unplanned downtime that can impact production schedules.
You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement preventive maintenance programs, manage utilities and facilities infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings hands-on problem-solving skills, strong technical knowledge, and a safety-first mindset to ensure a compliant, efficient, and environmentally responsible facility.
As part of the Private Advertiser team, you will participate in project work related to equipment upgrades, energy efficiency projects, and utility optimization. You will also coordinate with external vendors, track spare parts inventories, and maintain clear documentation for regulatory and quality audits.
Key responsibilities include monitoring facility performance metrics, leading root cause investigations, ensuring compliance with SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards, and supporting capital projects from planning through execution. You will implement energy efficiency measures to reduce operating costs and carbon footprint, and develop SOPs for facility operations and maintenance.

Responsibility
- Ensure smooth operation and reliability of all facility systems across Plant 1A and 1B, minimizing unplanned downtime.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance for utilities, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for facility-related failures; implement long-term improvements.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors, vendors, and service providers; manage spare parts inventory.
- Monitor energy usage and drive efficiency projects to reduce operating costs and environmental impact.
- Support facility-related projects from planning through delivery, within budget and timeline.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, SOPs, and compliance with SHE standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of facility services with production needs.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of facilities engineering, maintenance, or plant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of plant utilities, HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and instrumentation.
- Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and basic project management skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and electrical diagrams; proficiency with data analysis and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental regulations; certification in safety (e.g., OSHA) is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; fluency in English; Malay language skills are a plus.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; willingness to participate in on-call or shift coverage if required.
