Job description
We are seeking a visionary Fashion Designer to join a luxury fashion house based in Milan. This is an opportunity to shape modern elegance for discriminating customers across ready-to-wear and couture-inspired lines. You will translate creative concepts into market-ready styles while preserving the brand's heritage and premium craftsmanship.
As a core member of the design team, you will collaborate with product development, sourcing, and marketing to deliver cohesive collections on a seasonal timeline. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a refined aesthetic, and demonstrates a strong technical understanding of garment construction and textiles.
Responsibility
- Design and develop seasonal collections that align with the brand's aesthetics and commercial goals.
- Collaborate with production, fabric sourcing, and merchandising teams to ensure feasibility and on-time delivery.
- Create trend boards, mood boards, technical sketches, and CAD-ready flats for design and production teams.
- Source fabrics and trims, manage supplier relationships, and oversee fittings and prototype evaluations.
- Conduct fabric and garment testing for quality, durability, and fit across sizes.
- Present designs to internal stakeholders and iterate based on feedback and market insights.
- Support design communication across accessories and limited-run pieces to maintain cohesive storytelling.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in luxury fashion houses or premium brands with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in sketching, draping, pattern making, and garment construction techniques.
- Strong command of CAD software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with CLO 3D a plus.
- Excellent sense of proportion, color, texture, and fabric knowledge; strong attention to detail.
- Experience working in Milan or Europe-based fashion brands is a plus; willingness to travel for research and shows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in Italian and English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
