We are seeking a results-driven Fisheries Operations Manager to oversee catch planning, processing coordination, and compliance across our offshore and onshore teams in Aberdeen. You will partner with fleet managers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure safety, quality, and profitability while advancing our sustainability goals.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will design and implement best-in-class operating procedures, optimize resource allocation, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain from sea to customer. Responsibility

  • Oversee day-to-day fisheries operations, including harvest planning, vessel coordination, and crew scheduling to maximize safety and productivity.
  • Develop and implement catch quotas, effort controls, and compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Lead processing and value-adding activities onshore, ensuring product quality, yield, and traceability.
  • Manage supplier relationships, procurement, and inventory to optimize costs and reduce waste.
  • Monitor KPIs, prepare reports for executives and stakeholders, and drive data-driven improvements.
  • Ensure robust health and safety programs, risk assessments, and incident investigations across sites.
  • Collaborate with R&D, aquaculture partners, and scientists to advance sustainable fishing practices and ecosystem stewardship.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, training, and performance management across teams.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Oceanography, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fisheries operations, supply chain, or aquaculture management.
  • Strong knowledge of fishing regulations, quotas, and sustainability frameworks (MSC, IUU, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and optimize processes.
  • Data literacy with proficiency in Excel, BI tools, or ERP systems; experience with catch and processing data is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Health and safety certification and a track record of safe operating practices.
  • Willingness to travel to vessels and remote processing sites as needed.
