Join Apex Transportation Solutions, a leader in regional freight and last-mile logistics, as our next Fleet Manager in New York. You will oversee all aspects of fleet operations, driver performance, maintenance programs, and route planning to ensure safe, on-time, cost-effective delivery services for a diverse portfolio of customers.
What you’ll do: Lead end-to-end fleet operations, coordinate dispatch and routing, and drive continuous improvements using data-driven insights. Partner with maintenance vendors to optimize uptime and reduce total cost of ownership. Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and foster a culture of safety and accountability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with customer expectations and business goals. Maintain accurate records, dashboards, and budget tracking to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibility
- Lead fleet operations and dispatch coordination to ensure on-time deliveries and optimal asset utilization.
- Analyze routes, fuel usage, and maintenance data to reduce costs and improve performance.
- Manage relationships with maintenance vendors, tire providers, and fuel partners.
- Ensure safety compliance and driver training in line with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Develop and monitor KPIs (on-time delivery, uptime, cost per mile, incident rate) and present insights to leadership.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls for the fleet portfolio.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations to meet customer expectations and SLA requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in fleet management or transportation operations; leadership experience preferred.
- Proven ability to reduce costs and improve on-time delivery targets.
- Strong data analytics skills; proficiency with Excel and a TMS/ERP system.
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety programs; CDL preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
