We are seeking a results oriented Transportation Planner to optimize routes, improve service reliability, and support capacity planning for a growing network across North America. You will work with data, GIS, and cross functional teams to deliver data driven transportation plans that reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
What you will do to move the industry forward includes leveraging forecasting models, running scenario analyses, coordinating with operations, and presenting findings to leadership. Responsibility
- Develop and maintain transportation plans and routing strategies that optimize cost, time, and reliability
- Analyze network performance using GIS, TMS data, and other sources to identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and customer service to align capacity with demand
- Create and manage KPIs, dashboards, and regular performance reviews for senior leadership
- Lead transportation projects from concept to implementation with clear milestones and outcomes
- Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure compliance across routes and modes
- Assist in vendor selection and contract negotiations for carriers and services
- Support sustainability initiatives by evaluating fuel efficiency and carbon footprint reductions
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in urban planning, logistics, civil engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in transportation planning, logistics, or supply chain analytics
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with TMS, ERP, and demand forecasting software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements for multi modal transportation
