AtlasLine Freight & Transit is seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Transportation Operations Manager to optimize cross-docking, route planning, and fleet utilization across multiple carriers. This role combines leadership, analytics, and operational excellence to ensure on-time delivery, cost control, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
As a senior member of the Operations team, you will partner with Supply Chain, Customer Success, and Finance to drive end-to-end transportation performance, implement scalable processes, and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibility
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of transportation coordinators and dispatchers.
- Plan, optimize, and monitor daily transportation operations to maximize on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
- Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, rate cards, and service level agreements.
- Implement data-driven routing, mode selection, and capacity planning using TMS and ERP systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation with procurement, warehousing, and customer expectations.
- Own budgeting and cost governance for transportation programs while reporting KPIs to leadership.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in transportation/logistics with progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), ERP, and data analytics.
- Proven experience in carrier negotiations, rate benchmarking, and contract management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive process improvements.
- Knowledge of safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards in transportation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
