We are seeking a Forestry Field Engineer to lead on-site operations, collect data, and support project planning in the Vancouver region. In this position you will collaborate with biologists, GIS specialists, and contractors to execute field surveys, establish inventory plots, monitor silvicultural treatments, and support environmental compliance. A strong emphasis on safety, quality, and stakeholder communication is essential.

Responsibility
- Lead on-site forest inventory and data collection in accordance with national standards
- Plan and supervise field surveys, timber cruising, and habitat assessments
- Coordinate with contractors, rangers, and biologists to maintain project schedules
- Utilize GIS and GPS tools to map stands, boundaries, and harvest blocks
- Support silvicultural planning, harvest optimization, and reforestation activities
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare field reports and data for project management and clients
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum 2 years field experience in forestry operations or natural resource management
- Proficient with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), GPS data collection, and field data analysis
- Strong knowledge of forest inventory methods and silviculture practices
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Valid driver license and ability to travel to project sites
- Safety training certification such as Wilderness First Aid or OSHA is preferred
- Fluent in English; bilingual in French is a plus
