Responsibility
- Lead field-based timber harvest planning and silvicultural prescriptions
- Conduct forest inventories, stand exams, and data collection
- Develop and oversee annual work plans and budgets
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and Indigenous/community partners
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and safety standards
- Manage data, GIS mapping, and reporting to stakeholders
- Monitor growth, regeneration, and silvicultural outcomes
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field; professional designation (RPF) preferred
- 3-5 years of field experience in forestry operations
- Strong knowledge of BC forestry statutes and environmental regulations
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and GPS data collection
- Excellent communication, report writing, and project management skills
- Ability to operate in remote field conditions; willingness to travel
- Valid driver’s license
- Team-oriented, proactive, and detail-minded
