Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of forestry projects from inception to closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
- Coordinate field surveys, timber inventories, and biodiversity assessments across multiple sites.
- Manage data collection protocols, quality control, and GIS-driven analysis to inform harvest plans and silvicultural strategies.
- Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and positive stakeholder outcomes.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, maps, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Mentor field staff, contractors, and technicians; ensure safety and operational excellence in the field.
- Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and adapt plans in response to changing conditions.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals and client communications.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Geography, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of project management or field forestry experience; GIS proficiency required.
- Strong knowledge of silviculture, timber measurement, wildlife habitat, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), remote sensing, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing skills.
- First Aid/CPR and OSHA- or equivalent safety training a plus.
- Ability to work in varied field conditions and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities.
