Responsibility
- Lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of forestry projects, including reforestation, habitat restoration, and timberland management.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams of foresters, GIS analysts, ecologists, and contractors to deliver on project goals.
- Develop and manage project scopes, timelines, milestones, and resource plans; monitor progress and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local forestry regulations and sustainable practice standards.
- Engage landowners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to communicate plans and secure permits.
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and environmental assessments for review and submission.
- Oversee procurement, vendor selection, contract administration, and subcontractor performance.
- Promote health, safety, and quality assurance on all field activities and projects.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field; a master's is a plus.
- 5+ years of forestry project management experience, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS/QGIS) and forest inventory methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of coordinating diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting processes and regulatory requirements (NEPA/CEQA familiarity is a plus).
- Ability to analyze data, develop reports, and present findings to leadership and landowners.
- Willingness to travel to field sites; valid driver's license required.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a bonus.
