CanopyPeak Forestry Solutions is actively seeking a results-driven Forestry Project Manager to lead sustainable forest management initiatives in the Vancouver region. This role blends field operations, planning, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver measurable environmental and business outcomes for our clients and communities.
As a key member of our forestry team, you will oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and compliance, while mentoring field staff and coordinating with contractors, regulators, and Indigenous communities. Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of forest management projects in designated BC forests, ensuring compliance with laws and sustainable practices.
- Coordinate field operations, contractors, and suppliers to meet timelines and budgets.
- Develop and monitor silviculture prescriptions, harvesting plans, and reforestation activities.
- Conduct GIS analysis, data collection, and reporting to inform decision-making.
- Manage permits, environmental assessments, and regulatory reporting to provincial authorities.
- Engage with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and local authorities to foster partnerships and transparent communication.
- Ensure health and safety compliance; lead risk assessments, training, and incident prevention.
- Support business development, client relationships, proposals, and project budgeting for forestry services.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field; a BC RPF designation or eligibility is preferred.
- 5+ years of forestry field experience, with proven project management capabilities and a track record of delivering on-time, on-budget projects.
- Strong knowledge of BC forest practices, silvicultural treatments, and sustainable management principles.
- Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS), data collection, analysis, and report generation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to work with diverse teams.
- Experience with budgeting, procurement, contractor management, and health & safety programs.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites; ability to work in remote or rugged environments.
- Professional communication in English; strong written and verbal reporting capabilities.
