Evergreen Conservancy is seeking a Forestry Project Manager to lead sustainable forest management initiatives across private and public lands in the Pacific Northwest. This role blends field operations, strategic planning, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver measurable ecological and economic outcomes.
As a key member of our Conservation Team, you will oversee silviculture prescriptions, timber harvest planning, data driven monitoring, and compliance with forest certification standards. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex forest data into actionable plans for landowners, agencies, and community partners.
Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of forest management projects ensuring ecological integrity and economic viability
- Develop and implement silviculture prescriptions, planting and thinning schedules
- Coordinate field surveys, data collection, and monitoring using GIS tools
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with landowners, government agencies, and NGOs to align objectives
- Promote sustainable harvesting practices and certification standards
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and stakeholder communications
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field; master's preferred
- 3-5 years of forestry project management or field operations experience
- Strong knowledge of silviculture, timber harvest planning, and forest mensuration
- Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) and data collection methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work in varied field conditions and travel as needed
- Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
