GreenCanopy Forestry Solutions is seeking a proactive Forestry Project Manager to join our Vancouver team. You will oversee sustainable forest management projects, combining field operations with data-driven planning. This role requires collaboration with government agencies, Indigenous stakeholders, and landowners to ensure responsible timber production and ecosystem resilience.
In this role, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and chain-of-custody standards. You will also champion innovation in data collection and reporting through GIS, drone imagery, and field surveys.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end forestry project planning, field implementation, and monitoring to achieve harvest, reforestation, and conservation objectives.
- Direct field crews, subcontractors, and consultants; manage schedules, budgets, and quality control.
- Develop silviculture plans, stands improvement, and regeneration strategies aligned with site conditions and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and landowners to secure approvals and maintain transparent communication.
- Utilize GIS, remote sensing, and data collection tools to monitor forest health, growth, and yield; produce actionable reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards across all operations.
- Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, risk assessment, and performance metrics.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on forestry project management experience in timber operations, conservation, or reforestation.
- Strong knowledge of silviculture, harvesting methods, and forest operations planning.
- Proficiency with GIS, GPS, remote sensing, data analysis, and reporting software.
- Demonstrated budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to liaise with regulators, communities, and partners.
- Professional Forester designation (RPF) or eligibility strongly preferred; valid driver's license.
