Responsibility
- Lead forestry project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Coordinate field surveys, timber inventories, data collection, and GIS data management.
- Manage field crews and contract teams, ensuring safety and quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze stand data to inform silvicultural prescriptions and management plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including Indigenous groups, communities, and government agencies.
- Prepare progress reports and present project updates to leadership and clients.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of forestry project management or inventory experience.
- Strong GIS and data analysis skills; proficient with ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Experience with timber inventories, stand exams, and silviculture planning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites up to 40% of the time.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and safety standards (e.g., WorkSafeBC, BC Forest Act).
