As a Forestry Project Manager, you will oversee projects from planning to reporting, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while optimizing ecological and economic outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead planning, budgeting, and scheduling for forestry projects across multiple sites.
- Oversee field surveys, stand exams, timber cruising, and silvicultural treatments.
- Manage field crews, safety programs, and contractor performance.
- Coordinate with government agencies on permitting, reporting, and compliance.
- Develop and implement Forest Stewardship Plans and habitat conservation measures.
- Utilize GIS, drone data, and inventory software to monitor forest conditions.
- Analyze data to inform management prescriptions and track project outcomes.
- Engage with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and local partners to align objectives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of forestry field and project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of silviculture, inventory methods, and timber harvesting regulations.
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and data analysis; experience with remote sensing.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams; safety certifications (First Aid, WHMIS).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites as needed.
