As a Forestry Project Manager, you will coordinate field teams, manage budgets, ensure regulatory and environmental compliance, and collaborate with stakeholders to balance conservation goals with operational needs.

Responsibility

  • Lead planning, scheduling, and delivery of forestry projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Oversee field surveys, timber cruising, GIS data collection, and mapping to inform stand-level decisions.
  • Manage contractor performance, safety programs, and incident reporting in accordance with HSE policies.
  • Coordinate with ecology, silviculture, and harvesting teams to align objectives and improve ecosystem outcomes.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, permits, and certification standards (FSC/PEFC as applicable).
  • Champion sustainable forest practices, data-driven decision-making, and quality control across projects.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in forestry project management, field operations, or silviculture coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS) and timberland assessment methods.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills.
  • Professional certification (RPF, or related) is a plus; valid driver's license required.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations; ability to work in remote field conditions.
