Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate field operations across multiple sites, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and timely execution.
- Manage timber inventory, volume estimation, sampling, and data quality control.
- Develop, plan, and implement sustainable harvest plans in collaboration with stakeholders and landowners.
- Conduct site assessments, delineation, risk analysis, and habitat preservation considerations.
- Oversee project budgets, scheduling, contractor management, and procurement.
- Prepare technical reports for clients and regulatory agencies; maintain accurate records and data repositories.
- Utilize GIS and remote sensing tools to map stands, monitor growth, and support decision-making.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of forestry field experience with exposure to project management.
- Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), inventory software, and data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of BC forestry regulations and environmental standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to travel to field sites; valid driver's license; willingness to work in remote locations.
- Proficiency in MS Office; report writing and data management.
- Professional accreditation such as RPF is a plus.
