Responsibility
- Conduct field surveys for timber inventory, stand density, and health assessments.
- Collect and verify data using handheld devices; maintain accurate records.
- Assist with reforestation, thinning, and silvicultural activities under supervision.
- Collaborate with wildlife and environmental teams to ensure compliance with permits.
- Support GIS mapping, GPS data capture, and plot layout.
- Monitor safety protocols and lead by example in the forest.
- Prepare routine reports and assist with stakeholder communications.
Qualification
- Diploma or degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field.
- 1-3 years field forestry experience; or internship.
- Familiarity with timber measurement, stand typing, and growth modeling.
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and GPS data collection.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently in remote settings.
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to field sites; ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and incident reporting.
