Join a thriving NYC-based gallery and arts nonprofit as a Gallery & Arts Program Manager. You will lead exhibition planning, artist relations, and community programs that elevate contemporary fine arts and engage diverse audiences.
In this role you will collaborate with curators, artists, and educators to deliver high-impact exhibitions, manage programs, oversee operations, and ensure exceptional visitor experiences.
Responsibility
- Oversee the full exhibition lifecycle from concept development and budgeting to installation and deinstallation.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with artists, lenders, curators, educators, and partners.
- Develop and manage public programs, talks, tours, workshops, and education initiatives to engage audiences.
- Coordinate logistics, including scheduling, budgets, shipping, insurance, installation planning, and compliance.
- Lead gallery operations, including staffing, visitor services, safety, and security protocols.
- Drive outreach and sponsorship efforts, writing proposals and stewarding donor relations.
- Track program metrics, prepare reports, and collaborate with Marketing and Development teams to maximize impact.
Qualification
- BA/BS in Fine Arts, Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field; 3-5 years of gallery or Art nonprofit experience.
- Strong curatorial sensibility and knowledge of contemporary art and artists.
- Excellent project management, budgeting, and vendor coordination skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with artists, educators, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with installation, preservation basics, and exhibition design considerations.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, and exhibition management tools; basic Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Flexible availability for openings, events, and occasional weekend work.
