Join Lumen Gallery, a premier platform for contemporary fine arts, as a Gallery Curator. You will lead the development of immersive exhibitions, build artist relationships, and shape our program to attract diverse audiences.
We seek a thoughtful, organized, and ambitious curator who can translate artistic vision into compelling experiences that connect artists, collectors, and communities.
Responsibility
- Lead the research, interpretation, and conceptualization of contemporary fine arts exhibitions.
- Develop and manage the annual exhibition calendar, budgets, and production timelines.
- Collaborate with artists, lenders, conservators, and institutions to secure works and loans.
- Oversee installation, labeling, cataloging, and conservation standards for all works.
- Design audience engagement programs including talks, tours, and education initiatives.
- Manage gallery staff, interns, and external contractors; coordinate with vendors and freight handlers.
- Represent the gallery at fairs, partnerships, and donor/collector meetings to grow the program.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or a related field; minimum 5 years curatorial experience.
- Proven track record of organizing and presenting successful contemporary art exhibitions.
- Deep knowledge of contemporary art, conservation and installation practices.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; experience with CRM and collection management software.
- Ability to travel for loans, research, and installations; strong network within artist and museum communities.
- Fluency in English; additional languages a plus.
