In this role you will shape the program, collaborate with artists and lenders, and lead a cross-functional team to deliver transformative experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute the curatorial strategy and exhibition calendar to elevate the gallery's profile.
- Oversee all aspects of exhibition planning, installation, deinstallation, and conservation considerations.
- Build and maintain relationships with represented artists, lenders, collectors, museums, and partner institutions.
- Lead budgeting, fundraising, sponsorships, and financial planning for annual programs.
- Manage a small team of curators, registrars, and arts educators; mentor professional development.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to craft compelling storytelling and media outreach.
- Ensure compliance with ethics, conservation standards, insurance, shipping logistics, and compliance policies.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Art History, Fine Arts, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years in curatorial or gallery leadership with a proven track record of successful exhibitions.
- Strong network within contemporary and historical art communities, collectors, and institutions.
- Excellent project management, budgeting, and operational oversight skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with art handling, conservation, insurance, shipping, and installation logistics.
- Proficiency with collection management systems and CRM platforms; data-driven decision making.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team in a collaborative environment.
