TerraNova Geoscience is seeking a motivated Geologist to join our Denver-based team. This role focuses on field-based exploration, geological modelling, and client-facing reporting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality geological assessments across mining, oil & gas, and environmental projects.
As a Geologist at TerraNova, you will design and execute field mapping campaigns, collect and interpret rock samples, create geological maps and cross-sections, and contribute to robust 3D models. You will also mentor junior staff and help advance our safety culture on site.

Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate field-based geological mapping and sampling campaigns across multiple project sites in the Rocky Mountain region.
- Develop and refine geological models using field observations, laboratory analyses, and remote sensing data.
- Manage data collection, QA/QC, and entry into GIS databases; ensure traceability of samples and metadata.
- Prepare technical reports, maps, cross-sections, and presentation materials for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with hydrogeology, geophysics, environmental science, and mining teams to support exploration and development programs.
- Mentor junior geologists and field technicians; enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance on site.
- Support permit applications and environmental baseline studies; contribute to risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field; MS preferred.
- 3+ years of geological fieldwork experience, with exposure to exploration, mining, or environmental projects.
- Proficiency in geological mapping, sedimentology, structural geology, and rock/mineral identification.
- Strong GIS skills (ArcGIS, QGIS) and experience with 3D modeling and data visualization.
- Excellent report writing, data interpretation, and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites; safety training (OSHA, First Aid) preferred.
- Ability to work in diverse field conditions and climates; willingness to relocate to the Denver area or travel to project locations as needed.
