TerraNova Resources is seeking a motivated Senior Geologist to lead field investigations, develop geologic models, and deliver high-quality technical reports in the Rocky Mountain region.
This role blends hands-on fieldwork with rigorous data analysis, collaborating with exploration, geophysics, and engineering teams to optimize drill programs and drive project success. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, robust geological knowledge, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Responsibility
- Plan, supervise, and execute field mapping, sampling, and core logging across assigned projects.
- Design, oversee, and review drill programs; ensure high-quality data collection and logging procedures.
- Develop geological models by integrating field observations, laboratory analyses, and geophysical data.
- Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations for clients, management, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage geologic data using databases and GIS tools; ensure QA/QC and proper documentation.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to junior geologists and field technicians; coordinate cross-disciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of geology experience in mineral exploration, mining, or related environments.
- Proven field mapping, stratigraphic logging, and rock description skills; familiarity with sedimentology and structural geology.
- Strong experience with GIS (ArcGIS, Leapfrog, or equivalent) and geological data interpretation.
- Knowledge of QA/QC, sample handling, and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Excellent technical writing, presentation, and communication abilities; fluency in English required.
- Ability to work in demanding field conditions, travel to project sites, and hold a valid driver's license.
