TerraNova Geosciences is seeking a motivated Geology Field Scientist to join our growing team in Denver, CO. This role blends field exploration with desk-based analysis to deliver rigorous geological assessments for mining, environmental, and infrastructure projects. Responsibility
- Lead field reconnaissance and mapping campaigns in diverse terrains.
- Collect rock, soil, and groundwater samples following QA/QC procedures.
- Prepare geological maps and cross sections using GIS and CAD tools.
- Log core samples and interpret stratigraphy, structure, and mineralization.
- Manage data entry, database management, and reporting deliverables for clients.
- Coordinate with environmental scientists, engineers, and clients to align project goals.
- Ensure field safety and compliance with site-specific protocols.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; Masterβs preferred.
- 2+ years of field geology experience; mining, exploration, or environmental geology a plus.
- Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and geological software; experience with Leapfrog or Move optional.
- Strong mapping, logging, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce technical reports.
- Ability to work in field settings, travel to site locations, and lift equipment.
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Safety-conscious with knowledge of field health and safety practices.
