Job description
EarthPeak Geoscience is seeking a Senior Geologist to lead field mapping, subsurface interpretation, and resource modeling for exploration and development programs. The role blends hands-on fieldwork with rigorous data analysis in a collaborative, safety-driven environment.
You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and provide client-ready geoscience deliverables that inform decisions and strategy.
Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate field mapping campaigns across diverse terrains, ensuring data quality and safety compliance.
- Develop and interpret stratigraphic frameworks, rock descriptions, and sedimentological analyses to support resource estimates.
- Produce robust geological models and grade/thickness interpretations for exploration programs.
- Manage data workflow in GIS and geostatistical software; mentor junior staff in data handling.
- Prepare client-ready reports, maps, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists to integrate multidisciplinary insights.
- Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and communication of uncertainties to stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible geoscience experience in field mapping and interpretation.
- Strong proficiency in ArcGIS or QGIS and geostatistical software; experience with core logging tools is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology; demonstrated ability to build geological models.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven field safety record; willingness to travel to project sites up to 25% of the year.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team; strong problem-solving mindset.
