Responsibility

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students across multiple grade levels, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance program focused on college and career readiness, SEL, and transition planning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to support student success and well being.
  • Conduct student assessments, maintain confidential records, and monitor progress using data-driven practices.
  • Coordinate and lead program activities such as career fairs, counseling workshops, and postsecondary planning events.
  • Provide crisis intervention, threat assessment, and timely referrals to internal and external resources as needed.
  • Advise and support students in meeting graduation requirements and exploring postsecondary options while promoting equity and inclusion.

Qualification

  • Master of Science in School Counseling or Master of Arts in Counseling or related field from an accredited program.
  • Valid state school counselor certification or licensure.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in school counseling or related setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of K 12 guidance curriculum, counseling standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to engage diverse families and communities.
  • Experience with data driven planning, case management, and implementing social emotional learning programs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural humility and equity in practice.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages is a plus.
