Responsibility

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, emotional, and career development.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive guidance plans aligned with school objectives and student needs.
  • Deliver classroom guidance lessons on study skills, time management, decision making, and resilience.
  • Coordinate college and career readiness activities: college visits, FAFSA support, scholarship information, and application guidance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to identify at-risk students and create targeted intervention plans.
  • Assess student needs, maintain confidential records, and track data to measure outcomes and inform programming.
  • Advise on course selection, graduation requirements, and transitions to post-secondary options.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field.
  • California Pupil Personnel Services Credential (School Counseling) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of school-based counseling or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SEL frameworks, FAFSA and college admissions processes; experience advising first-generation learners.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and uphold ethical guidelines.
