PathwayBridge Counseling is seeking a seasoned Guidance Counselor to support students in Seattle, WA. This full-time role focuses on academic planning, career exploration, personal development, and college readiness. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to foster student success in a diverse educational environment.
As a member of our Student Support Team, you will deliver proactive services that empower students to set goals, overcome barriers, and reach their full potential. We value equity, confidentiality, and a holistic approach to student well-being.
Responsibilities include partnering with families and community resources, coordinating the guidance curriculum, and contributing to a safe and inclusive school culture.
Responsibility
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to students on academic, career, and personal development issues.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance curriculum aligned with state standards and school goals.
- Administer career assessments, create personalized college and career action plans, and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success and postsecondary planning.
- Coordinate workshops, college fairs, internships, and guest speaker events; lead parent nights and community outreach.
- Maintain confidential records, document interventions, and track outcomes to inform school-wide decisions.
- Respond to crises with appropriate intervention, referrals, and follow-up support.
- Advise on IEP/504 processes as needed and promote SEL practices across the campus.
Qualification
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Valid state school counselor license or clear eligibility to attain licensure in Washington.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in guidance counseling within educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of career development theory, college admissions processes, financial aid, and FAFSA.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to build trust with students, families, and staff.
- Experience with crisis intervention, SEL frameworks, and culturally responsive practices.
- Proficiency with student information systems, assessment tools, and data-driven planning.
