Atlantic University seeks a dynamic and experienced Lecturer in Computer Science to join our growing faculty. The ideal candidate will deliver undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development.
We honor scholarly research while maintaining a student-centered learning environment. You will collaborate with other faculty to design engaging courses, assess student outcomes, and participate in department services.
Responsibility
- Deliver engaging lectures and foster an inclusive learning environment across undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Design, update, and assess course curricula, syllabi, and learning materials.
- Develop and administer assessments, provide timely feedback, and maintain rigorous grading standards.
- Advise and mentor students, support academic and career development, and supervise capstone projects.
- Lead and participate in curriculum committees, program reviews, and accreditation activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on research and interdisciplinary initiatives; present findings at conferences.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods and educational technology to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Qualification
- PhD in Computer Science or related field; or MS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years of higher education teaching experience or demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and mentoring.
- Experience with assessment, curriculum development, and student mentoring.
- Proficiency with modern programming languages and software development practices.
- Ability to contribute to research and scholarship; willingness to supervise theses or capstone projects.
