BrightPath Education Group is seeking a compassionate, results-driven Guidance Counselor to join our NYC-based team. You will support middle and high school students with academic planning, career exploration, and social-emotional well-being. This role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, families, and a multidisciplinary team to promote student success and resilience.

Responsibility

- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social-emotional, and personal development needs. \n
- Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance curriculum aligned with school standards and state regulations. \n
- Assist with course selection, graduation planning, and college and career planning. \n
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to support student success. \n
- Implement crisis intervention and safety planning; respond to student in crisis per district protocols. \n
- Maintain confidential records, data entry, and progress reporting; utilize data to inform program improvements. \n
- Represent the counseling department in school-wide initiatives; coordinate college readiness programs and external partnerships. \n
Qualification
- \n
- Master's degree in Counseling, School Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field. \n
- Valid State School Counselor Certification or licensure. \n
- 2+ years of K-12 counseling experience. \n
- Strong understanding of academic planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional learning. \n
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff. \n
- Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and accommodations. \n
- Proficiency with guidance software and data-tracking systems; ability to maintain accurate records. \n
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respond effectively to crisis situations. \n
