Evergreen Learning Institute is seeking a compassionate and results-driven Guidance Counselor to support students in grades 9-12. Responsibility
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to support academic success, career exploration, and social-emotional development.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify needs, document progress, and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Design and deliver evidence-based programs on college planning, career pathways, time management, and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to remove barriers to learning and well-being.
- Maintain confidential records, track student progress, and prepare reports using the school information system.
- Respond to crises with appropriate safety planning and referral to external resources when needed.
- Facilitate workshops and classroom lessons on study skills, mental health awareness, and healthy decision-making.
- Advise students on postsecondary options, scholarship opportunities, internships, and resume-building.
Qualification
- Master's degree in school counseling or equivalent; valid state school counselor certification
- Minimum 2 years of counseling experience in an educational setting (K-12 or higher education)
- Strong knowledge of counseling theories, standardized assessments, and data-driven intervention planning
- Excellent communication, empathy, organization, and crisis response skills
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, families, and community partners
- Proficiency with school information systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student wellbeing; culturally responsive practice
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and district policies
