Responsibility
- Provide individual and small‑group counseling to support academic achievement, social‑emotional growth, and personal development.
- Design and deliver classroom guidance lessons on study skills, resilience, career exploration, college readiness, and decision making.
- Assess students, develop comprehensive guidance plans, and monitor progress using data‑driven approaches.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community resources to coordinate supports and ensure equitable access.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with FERPA and district policies.
- Support college and career readiness initiatives, including postsecondary planning, scholarships, and internship opportunities.
- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning, with appropriate referrals to external services when needed.
- Participate in IEP/504 planning teams and contribute to multi‑disciplinary case management as required.
Qualification
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field; valid state School Counseling certification.
- Current state certification/endorsement as a School Counselor; active good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in school counseling or a comparable setting.
- Strong knowledge of FERPA, confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and data privacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills; proven ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Experience with college and career readiness resources and data‑driven decision making.
- Crisis intervention training; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with counseling software, SIS platforms, and relevant educational technology.
