BrightPath Education is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to join our student services team in Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to impact students' academic paths, career exploration, and personal development.
As a key member of our guidance department, you will partner with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to deliver a data driven, comprehensive guidance program that supports students from middle through high school.

Responsibility
- Provide confidential individual and small group counseling to students addressing academic planning, personal development, social skills, and crisis intervention.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance program aligned with state standards and school goals.
- Assess student needs using relevant tools and coordinate with teachers to support at-risk students.
- Coordinate college and career readiness activities, including workshops, portfolio development, and scholarship opportunities.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and community partners to create supportive educational plans and referrals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data on student progress, program outcomes, and compliance with privacy policies.
- Respond to emergencies and provide crisis support in collaboration with campus safety and local resources.
Qualification
- Master's degree in School Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible state credential/license as a School Counselor (e.g., PPS, LCS, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school or educational counseling setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of college and career readiness standards, testing regulations, and postsecondary options.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
- Proven ability to conduct reliable assessments and use data to inform interventions.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and a culturally responsive approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, diverse school environment and manage multiple priorities.
