Responsibility
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, personal-social, and career development needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive guidance curriculum aligned with state standards.
- Conduct academic planning, schedule development, and post-secondary readiness activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to identify and support students at risk.
- Coordinate referrals to external support services and monitor progress.
- Lead SEL initiatives and crisis response planning; maintain confidential records per policy.
- Advise on IEP/504 plans in collaboration with special education teams when applicable.
- Promote a positive school climate through data-driven interventions and program evaluation.
Qualification
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or related field; valid state school counselor license or certification required.
- Proven counseling experience in a K-12 setting; strong understanding of academic planning and college/career readiness.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse students and families; culturally responsive practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
- Experience with SEL programs, data-driven decision making, and assessment tools.
- Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and accommodations; ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and ethical standards.
