Responsibility
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to students addressing academic, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Develop and monitor personalized guidance plans, including graduation requirements, college and vocational pathways.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify student needs and coordinate interventions.
- Implement crisis response and safety planning; refer to appropriate resources as needed.
- Deliver classroom guidance lessons on study skills, resilience, stress management, and goal setting.
- Maintain confidential records in compliance with FERPA and district policies; analyze data to inform program improvements.
- Provide college admissions guidance, scholarship search, and FAFSA assistance; coordinate college fairs.
- Advocate for equity and access, supporting multilingual families and culturally responsive services.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Counseling, School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid state Professional School Counselor license or equivalent.
- Proven experience in school-based counseling; crisis intervention and safety planning.
- Strong assessment and data-driven planning skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders (students, families, staff).
- Knowledge of college admissions processes, FAFSA, scholarship programs; familiarity with special education and 504 plans is a plus.
- Commitment to ethical guidelines (ASCA or ACA codes) and confidentiality.
- Cultural competency and ability to work with multilingual populations.
