Responsibility
- Provide individual and group counseling to students for academic, social-emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive guidance curriculum aligned with state standards and school goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to create personalized academic and career plans for students.
- Coordinate college and career readiness activities, internships, and post-secondary planning.
- Conduct crisis assessment, implement safety protocols, and refer to community resources as needed.
- Analyze student data to identify trends and inform program improvements.
- Promote equitable practices and a positive, inclusive school climate.
- Maintain confidential records and communicate progress with stakeholders with integrity.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Counseling, School Counseling, or related field; valid state certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of school counseling experience or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of counseling theories, developmentally appropriate practices, and crisis intervention.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and staff.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and program evaluation.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
- Experience with career counseling and post-secondary planning is a plus.
- Proficiency with counseling software, SIS, and Microsoft Office; ability to create engaging guidance materials.
