Northbridge Learning Institute is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to join our student success team in Seattle. This full-time position focuses on comprehensive student support, academic planning, college and career readiness, and crisis intervention when needed. You will collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to create a supportive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
As a Guidance Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through academic planning, delivering small- and large-group counseling sessions, and coordinating college admissions and financial aid processes. You will also help develop prevention and intervention programs that promote social-emotional well-being across the campus.
Responsibility
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, personal, and social-emotional development.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance program, including college and career readiness, testing accommodations, and counseling curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to identify at-risk students and create effective intervention plans.
- Coordinate college admissions activities, scholarship applications, and financial aid guidance for high school students.
- Maintain confidential student records in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
- Lead workshops on study skills, time management, stress reduction, and resilience.
- Monitor program outcomes using data-driven practices and adjust services to improve student success.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited program.
- State-issued school counseling certification or eligibility with a valid credential.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in K-12 counseling or school-based programs.
- Strong knowledge of developmental psychology and social-emotional learning frameworks.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and collaborative skills.
- Experience with crisis intervention and establishing referral networks.
- Proficiency in data-informed planning, use of counseling tools, and college/career resources.
